At last the confusion caused by academic standards imposed on the myriad of genealogical sources is cleared by Ben Sayer's guide. It has made this important task straight forward for the family historian.
Good book! Ben Sayer gives thorough and clear instructions, both on how to construct source details and citations in principle, and specifically for Reunion. It's all pretty obvious really, but it needed someone to cut through the crap and show how simple it all is really.
I was an academic historian and did this all the time, manually and easily. It took genealogists and genealogical software to make it complicated. Ben has taken us back to where we ought to be - simplicity and effectiveness.
An excellent resource for use with the Reunion genealogy program. Can't wait to fully implement this practical method of citation.
The information in this guide is very instructive and helpful. However, I was unable to register my download per the instructions in the guide as the site is no longer functional for registering. As long as you don't need the assistance of a forum or feedback with questions as you learn his system it is still worth the low cost. I submitted emails from the site's support page with questions about the website and registration over the past month or so, but have received no responses. I would give 5 stars if the site was still active.
A practical guide for entering Source Citation information into genealogy software programs to preserve data if transferring data. It's relative simple and straight forward. I did feel at times the author rushed a bit and would have taken time to give solutions to the practice exercises. Initially I didn't get it. I was over thinking it. Once I settled down and took what was said at face value it started to click.
